Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Lawrence University, obtained his CLU in 1981, and his PMD from Harvard Business School in 1988. Dave has over 25 years of insurance experience, beginning as an agent with Minnesota Mutual and serving in senior management for 15 years. As a manager, he served as senior vice president of Liberty Life and president of its subsidiary, Pierce National Life.
Dave joined Reliastar in 1993 as a board member and senior vice president responsible for the individual division as well as the CEO/Chairman of Washington Square Securities. In 1996, Dave joined Americo Life as their chief marketing officer. During his tenure with Americo, he also assumed the responsibilities for the Seniors Market business unit.
During his career in the life insurance business, Dave witnessed the problems caused by shortfalls to funeral homes on their preneed side of the business, particularly now in our low interest rate environment. In 2002, he decided to establish Hill Financial Advisory Service, which was designed to be a boutique insurance agency that specializes in financial advising, insurance consulting, and marketing and development support for the funeral service industry.
In addition to his responsibilities at Hill Financial, Dave helped establish a new company, Card Compliant, LLC. This company is a compliance specialty company serving the prepaid and stored value card industry.
Dave has been married to his wife, Linda, for over 27 years. They have two grown children, a son, James, and a daughter, Kristi.

Since the beginning of Hill Financial in 2002, Nancie has been helping Dave build the business by assisting all of their agents, policyholders and families. Nancie helps manage the office, and provides administrative support to the entire staff. She has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, providing administrative support to senior executives. Nancie has two wonderful children, lives in the Kansas City area and is active in her church and area music programs.

Al holds a degree in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He comes from a family history of funeral service with grandparents, uncles, and parents all working in the industry. Having grown up in the industry, and through his background in finance and business management, he recognized immediately that Hill Financial would allow him to help funeral homes, while allowing his return to the industry that he loves. He works closely and continuously with our clients to achieve their at-need and preneed goals. He is married with two young sons.
Ellen Buhr

Bookkeeper
Ellen has over 16 years of budget and accounting experience. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in May of 1988. She is responsible for reporting, payroll, commission analysis and payment, and accounts payable at Hill Financial. She is married with three children. Ellen is very active in her church, singing in the choir and is active on the church’s finance committee.
Kimber Welker

Marketing Manager
Kimber graduated from William Jewell College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing. She has spent most of her career in the marketing, finance, and consulting fields, which made her a great fit for this position at Hill Financial. She is responsible for the development and coordination of marketing plans for our clients, which include a full cost/benefit analysis for each marketing strategy. Kimber also coordinates the trust rollover process for our clients. She is married and has two young sons.
Debi Roberson
Debi Roberson

Debi graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from William Woods University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Tulsa. Debi has 20 years of financial experience, beginning her career in institutional sales and research with A. G. Edwards and Sons, then moving into banking with the Bank of Oklahoma, and then managing the pension and investment funds for The Williams Companies. She served in senior management positions in sales and marketing with GasTrak Corporation and Kansas Municipal Energy Agency.
In 1998, Debi began consulting with natural gas consumers in the areas of contract negotiations, commodity purchases and hedging strategies, as well as testifying as an expert witness in several federal and state natural gas contract and deregulation matters.
Debi joined Hill Financial in 2011 and is responsible for business development and client relationships. She has a wonderful son and is active in numerous community organizations.

Bob comes to Hill Financial with over 30 years of funeral and cemetery industry experience. He has been responsible for growing and managing many preneed programs, through successfully recruiting and training family service counselors. He is happily married with a daughter. Bob acts as a day to day sales manager, overseeing a number of family service counselors at a variety of locations.
